Employees of OpenAI, the tech company behind the artificial intelligence (AI)-based chatbot sensation ChatGPT, have threatened to quit en masse if the company’s board does not step down, reports said on November 20.
Citing a letter it obtained, CNN reported that 505 employees had notified the company that they would be switching to the new Microsoft subsidiary, whose operations would be led by ousted OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and former president Greg Brockman.
Brockman was also removed from OpenAI by the board in the shock decision announced on November 17.
“We are unable to work for or with people who lack expertise, judgment and concern for our mission and employees,” the news channel said of the letter.
“Your actions have made it clear that you are incapable of controlling OpenAI,” it added.
