The deadline to update FASTags KYC is February 29; otherwise, banks will deactivate/blacklist accounts that do not have comprehensive KYC details. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken this step in response to recent reports of the issuance of more than one FASTag for single vehicles and the issuance of FASTags without KYC, which is against RBI requirements.

How to upgrade FASTag KYC to upgrade from non – KYC client to full – KYC client
Please update your KYC information by following these steps, according to the Indian Highway Management Company (IHML) website.
Step 1: You can login through the dedicated customer web portal in the provided link and use your registered mobile number and password or OTP based validation to login in the IHMCL customer portal.
Step 2: On the Dashboard Menu and in the left side Menu of the Dashboard, select the “My Profile” option, post which “My Profile” page will be displayed. In that “My Profile” page, you can see the status. of your KYC and all the profile details you submitted during the Registration process.
Step 3: Click on the ‘KYC’ subsection next to ‘Profile’.
Step 4: In the ‘KYC’ subsection, you have to select the “Customer Type”
Step 5: Fill in the mandatory fields by submitting the required ID Proof and Address Proof documents along with your passport size Photo and Address (as per Address Proof).
Step 5: Mandatory tick the “Declaration: I/We confirm that the attached documents are genuine documents. I/We have the originals with us” to continue the KYC verification process. Within a maximum of seven working days from the date of your request for KYC update, your KYC will be completed. You can check your KYC status on the “My Profile” page of the Customer Portal after submitting a request.

How to know that FASTag KYC is incomplete?
According to the IHML website: In the event that your FASTag KYC is incomplete, you will be notified via email, SMS or the issuing bank’s application interface. We ask that you check for updates on the SMS, email and other communication channels you have registered.
