F&O ban list: A total of ten stocks were placed under the trading ban on Thursday, February 8, 2024, under the futures and options (F&O) segment of the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The securities were banned under the F&O segment as it crossed 95 percent of the market-wide position limit (MWPL), according to the NSE. However, the shares will be available for trading in the cash market.
Ashok Leyland, Balrampur Chini Mills, Delta Corp, Hindustan Copper, India Cements, Indus Towers, National Aluminum Company, SAIL, UPL and ZEE Entertainment Enterprises are the 10 stocks that are part of the stock exchange’s F&O ban list for February 08. .
The NSE updates the list of securities in the F&O ban for trading on a daily basis.
The derivative contracts in the said securities crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit and were currently placed in the stock exchange’s blackout period, NSE said.
“It is hereby informed that all clients/members will trade the derivative contracts of concerned security only to reduce their positions by offsetting positions. Any increase in open positions will attract appropriate punitive and disciplinary action,” NSE said.
No fresh positions are allowed for any of the F&O contracts in the particular stock when placed under the F&O ban period by the stock exchanges.
Benchmark stock indices Sensex and Nifty closed flat in volatile trade on Wednesday as investors remained on the sidelines ahead of RBI’s interest rate decision on Thursday.
The 30-share BSE Sensex declined 34.09 points or 0.05 percent to settle at 72,152. During the day, it hit a high of 72,559.21 and a low of 71,938.22.
The Nifty ended marginally up 1.10 points or 0.01 percent at 21,930.50.
IT stocks TCS, Infosys and Tech Mahindra declined on profit offsetting gains in select banking and pharma stocks.
In the broader market, BSE’s mid-cap gauge climbed 1.31 percent and small-cap index advanced 0.38 percent.
